Hi all,
This is our 3rd update on CR 2.0 and the one in which we reveal some more details about launch plans and how things will work.
With Round 3 in its current state, it's clear that CR 2.0 needs to be a clean slate with a fresh start. With that, the launch of CR 2.0 will align with Round 4. Given Round 3's population decline, we will be rolling over 100% of the gold purchased in Round 3 to Round 4.
As we progress in development on CR 2.0, we're now closer to the finish line and more able to start committing to a timeline.
Timeline
We're at 82% complete today, and we've started work on some of the more difficult features including Organized Crimes, which has significantly more content and progression (to be detailed closer to launch).
We anticipate Round 4 will begin in June, 2026.
3-4 months allows us plenty of time to complete the last few features, and more importantly, add more content. We've heard consistently over the years that CR lacks depth and content, especially at end game levels. We're adding substantial amounts of mission content, new achievements, new progression systems (ranks and leveling), new items, more Establishments and more optionality in the game.
Launch investment
It's important that Chicago Rum is exposed to new players as well as our existing ones, with this in mind we're planning a very substantial investment in a launch event and ongoing marketing. We experimented with marketing campaigns at the launch of Round 3 and want to significantly amplify this as the launch to Round 4 approaches, which we'll do through an extremely exciting, and huge, launch event we will detail closer to launch.
Closed BETA
Before we launch CR 2.0, we're anticipating the need for a short closed BETA prior to Round 4. We are still determining what this looks like and will have more to share soon.
Grand Theft Auto
A core part of Chicago Rum, we wanted to refresh Grand Theft Auto, revamp progression and make it far easier to use. All this is with the knowledge that cars become far more useful in CR 2.0 in both new features and new uses for existing features.

Thank you,
Mark & the staff team
