We are dedicated to providing the players of Chicago Rum with a reliable, fair environment to play in. As such, we are implementing these community guidelines that all players must adhere to. Our moderation team will be primarily responsible for enforcement of these rules. Players with concerns of any violations should immediately report them to staff and their report will be reviewed ASAP. We'd also like to invite player feedback on this rule set.
Chicago Rum Standards for Community Conduct
These standards apply both to Discord and the Chicago Rum Forums
Guideline 1 - No Pornography
The posting of adult content (pornography) is strictly prohibited.
Guideline 2 - No Targeted Harassment
Targeted harassment and conduct which seeks to demean players on the basis of immutable characteristics such as National Origin, Race, Religion, Sexual Orientation, and/or Gender Identity will not be tolerated. Some light banter is allowed.
Guideline 3 - Zero Tolerance for Doxing
Sharing or threatening to share any personal information of another player without their express, written consent is strictly prohibited. This rule is zero tolerance. Any player who engages in this behavior will be placed on the Ban-on-Sight list permanently, both in-game and on Discord. Additionally, the Chicago Rum staff will cooperate with law enforcement, if the need arises. No warnings will be given.
Guideline 4 - No Spam
Spam will not be tolerated. It is at the discretion of staff what constitutes spam.
Guideline 5 - No Debate of Enforcement
Enforcement actions taken by Chicago Rum staff are not a matter of public debate and will not be litigated publicly on Discord or the forum, nor will any information be disclosed to any other player, except the one mentioned in the ban. Players who discuss enforcement actions or pester staff regarding account bans in the public discord or forum will be first warned, then banned.
Guideline 6 - Contact Staff to Address Issues/Concerns
If players should encounter any issue in-game or in discord, they are encouraged to contact the Help Desk and/or a member of staff directly to have their issue addressed. Public litigation of concerns via discord or the forums will not be tolerated and considered a form of concern trolling which is disruptive to others.
Guideline 7 - No Promotion of Unfair Gameplay
Promotion or discussion of scripting, duping, cheating, and/or exploit abuse is not acceptable. File a complaint via the help desk and it will be investigated by staff.
Guideline 8 - No Advertising/Promotion of Competitors
Advertising and/or the promotion of competitors is not allowed. It’s fine to discuss features or other things happening in different games that you wish to see in Chicago Rum, though.
Guideline 9 - No Toxic Behavior
Engaging in behavior which is considered toxic, such as being disruptive, trolling, aggressive, or anything else which will negatively impact the experience of other players will not be tolerated.
Guideline 10 - Provide Constructive Feedback Only
Constructive criticism and feedback from the player base is welcomed, however it is not acceptable to provide nonconstructive criticism to staff. This includes personal attacks and vague or otherwise in-actionable points.
Guideline 11 - Discord Ban-on-Sight
Players who are banned on Discord are not permitted to return on a new account unless explicitly allowed by a member of the Chicago Rum admin team.
